Role Overview:

Our Ideal Candidate:
We are seeking a passionate and reflective Music teacher certified to teach grades K–12. The ideal candidate will foster musical creativity, appreciation, and skill development through engaging instruction in vocal and instrumental music. This educator will inspire students to explore music as a form of expression, collaboration, and cultural understanding.

The right educator will:

• Create engaging lessons that explore rhythm, melody, harmony, and musical composition.
• Encourage creative expression through performance, improvisation, and music appreciation.
• Foster a safe and inclusive environment where students feel confident exploring their musical talents.
• Thrive in flexible environments and collaborate with families to support student growth and artistic development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and deliver music instruction aligned with state standards and school curriculum.
• Implement age-appropriate activities that support musical skill development and creative exploration.
• Adapt lessons to meet the diverse needs and abilities of students across grade levels.
• Use formative and summative assessments to monitor progress and personalize instruction.
• Collaborate with families and staff to support student creativity and engagement.
• Maintain a safe, organized, and inspiring music learning environment.

Qualifications:
Knowledge / Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Music Education or related field (Master’s preferred).
• Must hold valid Florida Teacher Certification in Music Education K–12 OR a Temporary Florida Teaching Certificate with an agreement to complete requirements for full Florida Educator Certification in Music Education within three years of employment start date.
• Minimum of 3 years of teaching or music instruction experience preferred.
• Strong background in vocal and/or instrumental music, music theory, and performance.
• Experience with individualized and inclusive teaching approaches.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
• Must have empathy for students and enthusiasm for developing personalized, one-to-one learning relationships
