Job Description

Step into the vital role of a Registered Nurse in PACU (Post-Anesthesia Care Unit) and advance your career where every recovery matters. Starting 01/26/2026, you can join a dynamic travel nursing opportunity that places you at the forefront of patient safety and comfort, guiding individuals from the moment they awaken from anesthesia through the critical hours of recovery. In this PACU specialty, your clinical expertise, compassionate presence, and rapid critical thinking will directly influence outcomes, support surgical teams, and uplift patients and families during a pivotal time. You’ll have the chance to refine your assessment skills, optimize pain management strategies, monitor respiratory status, and anticipate complications with confidence. This is not just a job; it’s a chance to impact how patients regain their strength, regain their independence, and return to the activities they love. Massachusetts offers a rich backdrop for your professional journey—where precision meets empathy, and teamwork meets advanced care.

Nestled along the coast, Plymouth, Massachusetts, offers a compelling mix of historic charm and modern healthcare excellence. You’ll practice in a setting that blends community-focused hospitals with access to world-class medical resources, scenic coastal towns, and vibrant culture. From the shoreline’s calming views to the opportunity for quick getaways to Cape Cod’s beaches, Massachusetts provides a welcoming environment for clinicians who value balance, growth, and connection. And for those who relish variety, this role provides the opportunity to work in additional locations across the United States, broadening your professional horizons while maintaining the same high standards of patient care. You’ll gain exposure to diverse surgical specialties, varied patient populations, and process improvements that strengthen your clinical judgment and teamwork. This flexibility supports your long-term goals whether you choose to settle locally or pursue broader travel experiences.

In this PACU nurse role, you’ll be at the center of the patient journey after anesthesia. Your core responsibilities include close monitoring of vital signs, airway and breathing support, pain control optimization, early recognition of hemodynamic changes, and timely interventions to prevent complications. You’ll perform careful patient assessments, communicate clearly with anesthesia, surgical teams, and families, and ensure accurate documentation of recovery milestones, discharge criteria, and post-anesthesia orders. You’ll contribute to developing individualized recovery plans, including airway management adjustments, hemodynamic stabilization, fluid management, and effective analgesia, while prioritizing patient safety and comfort. The position also offers professional growth opportunities within PACU, where you can deepen your expertise in airway management, emergent event response, and PACU-specific best practices, as well as pursue continuing education and certifications that enhance your leadership potential. The role supports your development through hands-on mentorship, structured orientation, and access to evidence-based protocols that standardize high-quality care. You’ll also have the chance to participate in quality improvement initiatives, patient education efforts, and collaborative rounds that strengthen cross-disciplinary learning.

This assignment comes with competitive benefits designed to recognize your skills and dedication. You’ll receive a weekly pay range of $2,515 to $2,729, reflecting the value you bring to recovery units across participating facilities. In addition to competitive compensation, the package includes housing assistance to ease location transition and a sign-on or completion bonus to reward your commitment and performance. There are extension opportunities, allowing you to build continuity in your practice, deepen your professional relationships, and expand your scope through successive contract periods. A cornerstone of the program is comprehensive support—24/7 access to travel specialists and clinical coordinators who can help you troubleshoot scheduling, housing, credentialing, and clinical questions no matter where your assignment takes you. You’ll never feel isolated; your support network is available around the clock to ensure you can perform at your best, maintain work–life balance, and navigate the specifics of each facility.

Our company is anchored in empowerment—prioritizing your career advancement, professional satisfaction, and a positive, supportive work environment. You’ll find a culture that emphasizes learning, mentorship, recognition, and clear pathways to expand responsibilities within PACU and related specialties. The team is committed to fostering a collaborative atmosphere where nurses, physicians, and support staff grow together, celebrate successes, and continuously improve patient care. You’ll have access to ongoing education resources, leadership development opportunities, and a network of peers who share best practices and a commitment to excellence in perioperative care. This is your chance to join a organization that values your expertise, respects your autonomy, and invests in your long-term trajectory as a PACU nursing professional.

If you’re ready to make a meaningful impact, we invite you to apply and explore a travel nursing opportunity that aligns with your skills, interests, and career goals. This role offers the chance to contribute to high-stakes recovery care in a Boston-area community setting while enjoying the broader benefits of a nationwide travel program. Imagine the growth you’ll experience, the patients you’ll comfort, and the teams you’ll inspire as you help patients transition from postoperative recovery to the next phase of healing. Apply now to take the next step in a rewarding journey that values your contributions, supports your professional development, and celebrates the vital work you do every day.

Note: The hours and pay rates listed are estimates and may vary. Final compensation packages and guaranteed hours will be confirmed during the hiring process. There are zero guaranteed hours in this contract, reflecting the travel assignment model; however, you will be paid weekly for the hours worked within the stated range, with opportunities for extensions based on performance and facility needs. The start date is 01/26/2026, and the contract duration is expressed in weeks with potential extensions.
