Job Description

Tax Accountant II Location Remote : The Tax Accountant II will have responsibility for performing various job functions within the state and local tax group. The job functions will include the preparation of various state and local sales and use tax returns, supporting tax schedules and other special projects as assigned. The individual must be highly motivated, well organized, and insightful to make recommendations to management enabling the streamlining of existing processes. Responsibilities

• 3+ years of state and local experience with a corporate tax department, public accounting firm, or government tax authority.
• Experience preparing sales and use tax returns monthly, coordinating sales and use tax audits and Nebraska incentive claims.
• Experience analyzing invoices for use tax and scheduling the necessary payments.
• Experience working with state and local tax authorities, is a plus.
• Experience with tax preparation software, and Avalara sales and use tax software, a plus.
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or equivalent experience.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
• Strong state tax technical skills and research abilities.
• Ability to communicate and interface with various departments including finance and accounting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Systems experience with Oracle, and sales and use tax software, a plus.
• Highly organized and able to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
• Ability to function in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in English in a business environment.
Position Pay Range: This range represents the low and high end of the salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary based on factors including but not limited to geographical location and experience. $50,386.35-$80,617.14 This role is eligible for a bonus opportunity.
