Overview
Pharmacy Support Assistant
As-Needed
The retail pharmacy support person is responsible for nontechnical duties assigned by a supervising pharmacist including, but not limited to, assisting patient medication pick-up and delivery, processing wholesale drug orders, performing drug inventory duties, pulling, and restocking medication stock bottles, assisting in the cleaning of the work area, and restocking and ordering of supplies. The retail pharmacy support person is expected to understand and support the mission and vision of UnityPoint - Allen Hospital.

Responsibilities
Medication Distribution
• Delivering of medications
• Assisting the out-window/drive-thru at the Prairie Parkway Pharmacy

Customer Service
• Delivering excellent, direct patient customer service

Pharmacy Support
• Stocking supplies/medications on shelves.
• Assisting in clerical work in the pharmacy as assigned.
• Assisting in errands as assigned.

Qualifications
Required:
• Registered with the Board of Pharmacy as pharmacy support staff prior to the first day of work or registered as a tech in training or certified pharmacy technician at the time of hire.
• Ability to read, write, comprehend, and speak fluent English.
• Use of usual and customary equipment used to perform essential functions of the position.

Preferred:
• 2 years of prior cash handling and customer service experience in retail environment.
