Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Law Clerk / Legal Assistant to assist with client intakes and medical record requests. This role is vital to ensuring our clients’ cases are properly documented and move efficiently through the legal process. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced legal environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Client Intakes:

• Conduct initial client interviews over the phone and in person to gather case details.

• Assess potential personal injury and medical malpractice claims based on firm criteria.

• Collect and organize necessary documentation from clients, including medical histories, insurance information, and accident reports.

• Prepare intake summaries for attorney review.

• Provide compassionate and professional communication with clients who have suffered serious injuries.

Medical Record Requests & Case Development:

• Draft and send medical record and billing requests to healthcare providers, hospitals, and insurance companies.

• Follow up on outstanding requests to ensure timely receipt of records.

• Review and organize medical records, identifying key information relevant to each case.

• Assist attorneys and paralegals in summarizing medical records for litigation purposes.

• Maintain an accurate tracking system for record requests and deadlines.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or currently enrolled in law school or a paralegal studies program preferred.

• Previous experience in a law firm, medical office, or insurance setting is a plus.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.

• Highly organized with strong attention to detail.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, case management software, and electronic records management.

• Spanish-speaking ability is a plus.
