Position: Forklift Operator
Job Summary:
QEP Co., Inc. is seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to join our team at our Tolleson, AZ facility for the 1st Shift. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely operating and maintaining various types of forklifts to move materials throughout the warehouse. This position requires attention to detail, the ability to follow instructions, and a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate LP sit-down forklifts, stand-up reach trucks, electric pallet jacks, propane, and/or stand-up electric lift trucks.
- Perform safety inspections before each shift and remove any malfunctioning equipment from service.
- Pick products according to orders, palletize them, and prepare them for shipment.
- Track product locations within the warehouse and respond promptly to order requests.
- Handle recycling materials responsibly, count and record materials moved, and maintain accurate documentation.
- Load trucks per loading diagrams, ensuring items are secured properly.
- Receive finished goods and raw materials, following standard operating procedures.
- Multi-task throughout the day by unloading, receiving, staging pallets, and loading shipments.
- Maintain a clean and organized warehouse by performing tasks like sweeping and trash removal.
- Adhere to all safety rules, report any incidents or unsafe conditions to management, and follow any other duties assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both written and spoken.
- Basic mathematical skills for calculations involving multiplication, division, addition, and subtraction.
- Two to three years of related work experience.
- Lift properly. Learn the basic steps of proper lifting techniques and body positioning for pushing or
pulling. At QEP, you are regularly required to lift and/or move items weighing 50-70 pounds (depending on assignment); up to 100 lbs. occasionally with mechanical aids and team lifting.
- Physical ability to see and step over obstacles, as well as hear forklift equipment.QEP offers a competitive compensation package with comprehensive benefits.
